Purpose

Questions for Solana tracks clear, sourced, answerable public questions about governance, accountability, user protection, funding, infrastructure, and public process in the Solana ecosystem.

This page sets out how a record is selected, sourced, reviewed, updated, corrected, answered, and closed, so that a reader can check the process as well as the record.

Why this exists

Crypto ecosystems often talk about decentralisation, public goods, governance, and user protection. In practice, many important decisions are still made through foundations, teams, private relationships, grants, partnerships, platforming, and informal influence.

That does not mean those institutions are acting in bad faith. It means public infrastructure needs public accountability mechanisms. No institution should be expected to self-govern entirely through private channels when reputation, legal risk, funding relationships, and ecosystem politics all create pressure to avoid difficult questions.

Questions for Solana is a public-record process for governance questions that deserve clear answers. Each record should be capable of being answered, corrected, updated, or challenged through right of reply.

The aim is not to punish teams or institutions. The aim is to make standards clearer, protect users, reduce arbitrary treatment of teams, and help the ecosystem mature.

What qualifies as a record

A record may be published where the question is:

• specific, rather than a general impression or sentiment;
• factual, with a clear basis that can be checked;
• relevant to the project's scope: governance, accountability, user protection, funding, infrastructure, or public process in the Solana ecosystem;
• supported by evidence that meets the source standard below; and
• capable of receiving a public answer, correction, clarification, or update.

A submission that does not meet this standard is not published as a record.

Source standard

Each record is built on a preferred hierarchy of sources, used in this order where available:

1. Official statements and documents
2. On-chain data
3. Public records and archived pages
4. Attributed public statements
5. Private material, used only where its nature can be fairly described without exposing unnecessary personal data

Sources are cited within each record. Where a source is public and linkable, it is linked. A claim that is not supported by a source at this standard is not published as a record.

Editorial review

Records are not published automatically. Each submission is reviewed before publication against the standards on this page.

A submission may be edited for clarity, combined with related submissions, deferred for further sourcing, or declined if it does not meet the standard for a record.

Where a record raises a question about a party's conduct or process, it also sets out the strongest contrary view to that question, stated fairly and without argument, so that readers can weigh both before forming a view.

Disclosed interest

Where the publisher has a direct interest in a record, that interest is disclosed within the record. The same sourcing, correction, status, and reply standards in this method apply regardless.

Funding and independence

Questions for Solana is currently self-funded. It does not accept funding that gives any person, project, foundation, company, or ecosystem body control over record selection, wording, publication, corrections, status labels, or right of reply. Any future funding relevant to editorial independence will be disclosed.

Answer criteria

Each record should explain what kind of public answer, clarification, correction, disclosure, process, or update would materially address the question. Answer criteria help distinguish a substantive answer from a general comment or partial response.

Status key

Each record carries a status that reflects its current state in plain language. Status is reviewed when new information, a public answer, or a direct response is identified. The same labels are used on the Ledger and in Respond.

Primary status describes where the question currently stands. Record markers describe updates or maintenance actions on the record. A record may have one primary status and, where relevant, one or more markers. For example, a record can be Open and also marked Corrected, or Closed and also marked Archived. The status shown for a record is the most specific label that currently applies: a published, open record that has not yet received a substantive public answer is shown as Awaiting public answer rather than the more general Open, but it remains an open record.

Status labels and record markers are editorial tracking tools. They are not legal findings, liability findings, or determinations of wrongdoing.

Primary status

Label	Meaning
Open	The record is published and the question remains open.
Awaiting public answer	No substantive public answer has yet been identified or recorded.
Response received	A response, correction, or clarification has been submitted directly to Questions for Solana and is being reviewed.
Public answer identified	A relevant public statement, documentation update, or official source has been identified and is being reviewed or reflected in the record.
Partially answered	A direct response or public answer addresses some, but not all, material points.
Answered	A direct response or public answer addresses the material question clearly enough to be recorded as answered.
Closed	The record is no longer open because it has been answered, withdrawn, superseded, or otherwise closed. Closed does not mean the underlying issue was necessarily resolved.

Record markers

Marker	Meaning
Corrected	The record has been corrected after review, clarification, right of reply, or a public-source update.
Updated	The record has been updated to reflect new information, a response, or a public-source development.
Withdrawn	The record has been withdrawn because it no longer meets the publication standard, has been superseded, or should not remain active in its original form.
Archived	The record is no longer active but remains accessible for transparency.

A record does not need to be answered directly through Questions for Solana. A relevant public statement, correction, clarification, or documentation update identified elsewhere may also be reflected in the record and its status, with the source noted in the update log.

Right of reply

Any party referenced in a record may submit a correction, clarification, or substantive reply. A relevant response is reviewed and may be reflected in the record and, where it materially addresses the question, in the record's status.

How to respond

Community-supplied updates

Anyone may suggest a public answer, correction, source, or status review for an existing record. You do not need to be the person, project, or organisation named in a record to point to relevant public information. Suggested updates are reviewed against the same sourcing, relevance, correction, and right-of-reply standards before a record is changed.

A community submission does not automatically change a record's primary status or markers.

Corrections and updates

Where an error is demonstrated, the record is corrected. The standard applied is accuracy, not agreement.

Material changes to a record, including corrections, new sources, identified public answers, and status changes, are noted in its update log, so that the record's history remains visible alongside its current state.

To request a correction, email questions@questionsforsolana.com with the record reference, the specific claim, and the corrected fact with supporting evidence.

If a party disputes how a correction, response, or status update has been reflected, that objection may itself be noted in the relevant record where appropriate. Records can be updated over time rather than treated as final judgments.

Scope and limits

Questions for Solana does not adjudicate disputes, assign liability, or act as a legal authority. It documents public questions and tracks whether they receive a public answer.

Records are designed to close. A question that is answered, withdrawn, or otherwise brought to a close is marked accordingly and remains accessible, so the record can still be checked, tested, and corrected later if needed.

Questions for Solana is an independent public record project. It does not adjudicate disputes, assign liability, or make legal findings. Records are based on cited sources, public information, submissions, and editorial review under this Method. Status labels and record markers are editorial tracking tools only. Corrections, clarifications, right of reply, and update requests are welcome.
